Eugene Kavuma is a prominent figure in Uganda’s creative industry, currently serving as the Head of Special Projects at Next Media Group. His career is marked by a commitment to fostering creativity and community engagement within the cultural sector.

As the Head of Special Projects at Next Media, Kavuma focuses on innovative initiatives that enhance the creative economy. He is also involved in building a think-do tank aimed at improving financial access for those in the Creative and Cultural Industries.

Before joining Next Media, he was the Community Lead at MoTIV, where he developed business strategies, oversaw media projects, and significantly expanded community engagement efforts, growing membership from zero to 1,000 within a year.

Kavuma has played a pivotal role in various creative ventures, including founding Kampala Design Week, which celebrates design and innovation in Uganda. His work has helped cultivate a vibrant community of creatives, reaching over 6,900 youth across the country through targeted programs.

His multifaceted approach to leadership combines creativity with strategic thinking, making him a key player in Uganda’s evolving creative landscape.
